About Us - Lazy H Ranch - Mansfield, Ohio

Dr. Tom and Janet Hartranft live here on the ranch. Tom helps with day to day activities such as feeding the cows and exercising the horses. Janet helps keep the paper work going. She is great in the office! She helps each contestant sign in and enter classes. Her hard working personality and excellent ability to organize are great additions to our team.

Scott Hartranft manages the daily operations here on the ranch. Cattle herd health and keeping careful records take up much of his time. He also spends lots of time in the shop repairing equipment and building various hay trailers and wagons. Scott keeps the ground worked up in both of the arenas ensuring excellent footing for each event.

Scott's daughter, Talley is 6 years old and quite the little equestrian. Her favorite horse is "Pistol" and she can handle all of the chores involved in her care. She's getting ready to start participating in "sortings", of course with her dad.

Meghan Hartranft and her children Ethan and Emma enjoy frequent trips to the farm. They love spending time with the family and animals.

Employees:

Kalyn Garrison and her father, JR, are essential to our facility and our horses. During the week Kalyn provides attention to each animal. Cleaning stalls, feeding and exercising horses are just a few of her regular duties that include office work. On the weekends JR helps her take care of the barn so that she can have the much needed time off.

Mike Renkert is a longtime family friend. He puts in many long hours with assisting Scott. Mike enjoys competing in the team sortings and cuttings.

About our Ranch:

We would like to encourage horse clubs and show associations to rent our facilities for their shows, meetings, and clinics.Our facility includes an outdoor pen 125 ft round pen, an indoor (heated & cooled) pen 85 x 330 ft, 8 cattle pens that hold up to approximately 200 head of cattle, we have the ability to hold an additional 200 head nearby. We have a great PA system, a time clock and announcers booth which would all be available when renting our facility.
